A new Fantasia
Animated classical music — free on YouTube, for children everywhere.
Beautiful, music-led animation made by independent artists, not AI.
We're looking for partners and patrons to help bring Animato to life.
What is this?
Animato will be an ever-expanding series of short animations set to classical music.
It will live on YouTube, free to watch for every family on the planet.
Animato will operate on a charitable basis, built as a long-term cultural initiative.
Purpose
Children are surrounded by endless low-quality content.
Animato aims to give them something different. Beautiful, music-led animation that gradually introduces them to classical music.
By reinvigorating the medium of animated classical music, Animato also aims to reach audiences that classical music has struggled to access:
- younger audiences
- non-wealthy audiences
- informal, everyday settings
Who is behind this?
Animato has been developed by an experienced technology founder and classical music enthusiast, whose creative products have reached hundreds of millions of people.
Project status
We're preparing an initial slate of short animations, each centred on a single classical piece with a director-led visual interpretation.
The project has been scoped in collaboration with animators and music specialists, with a clear understanding of the costs and processes involved in commissioning the films.
We're now actively exploring ideas for the initial slate.
How to get involved
Animato is now looking for partners and patrons to help commission the first films and shape what comes next.
If there's a piece of classical music you love and you're interested in helping see it animated, we'd love to hear from you.
